Heat Maps for TSM
System performance can be impacted by bottlenecks in certain nodes, without being noticed until there is a major issue because traditional reports do not track and report effectively this kind of data. This is why Debriefing Software introduced the Heat Map visualization for TSM-Node activities in the Wizards Storage Portal.
What Heat Maps does is visualize graphically TSM node activity and performance statistics on one screen or page. Heat Maps is a brilliant tool for discovering usage patterns in large dataset by providing a coloured heat map that lets you review up to 60 days activity. You can then easily pinpoint nodes that perform above or below average, or identify cyclic performance issues that would be hidden in traditional reports. You may find that too many activities are running at the same time but can easily be rescheduled. Or that a minority of nodes are managing most of the activity while may others are standing idle for much of the time.
The Heat Maps analysis allows you to then optimize the system workload before you run into serious bottlenecks. Debriefing Software Heat Maps is unique to cloud-based applications and lets the information be shared by both the company IT team and their outsourced IT partner.
There are many types of useful statistics covering up to 60 days of client-based activity that can be graphically shown in an instant:
- MB, GB and TBs of data transferred per day
- Media wait
- Idle Time
- Transfer rates
- Files inspected
- Files backed up
- Failed files
- Filters on TSM server, domain, node names, life-cycle and activity type
It’s a very simple tool to use. If you already are using the Debriefing Software Wizards for TSM application you can discover this useful analysis tool now.
Just log into Wizards Storage Portal and then click through Object View, TSM Nodes, Client Activity Graphs – Heat Maps.
